Aston Martin V8 Vantage 6.1 EFI Conversion
This restoration project saw an Aston Martin V8 Vantage converted to a 6.1-litre model with fully-mapped Electronic Fuel Injection and ignition.
The standard 5.4-litre V8 Vantage had its carburreters removed and engine stripped, before being rebuilt to an increased capacity of 6.1 litres. Throttle bodies were installed to convert to fuel injection, while twin coil packs converted the ignition to distributorless. The engine was then mapped on our dyno, with optimum fueling and ignition advanced by 200rpm increments from idle up to 6,750rpm.
The engine and air conditioning were fully refurbished before the engine reinstalled. The fuel system was converted to a compatible EFI system, with a surge tank fabricated to the bottom of the main tank, and a high-pressure pump installed.
